We’re offering a wide range of opportunities to support your professional journey – from studying new techniques and developing leadership skills, to presenting overseas and undertaking student electives.

• BAPRAS Members: Leadership, Microsurgery, European Travelling Scholarship, Travelling Bursaries, and Travelling Bursaries for Presentations Overseas

• Open to All Medical Students: Student Bursaries for electives, research, or travel in plastic surgery

Leadership Bursary

6 bursaries of £500 each
For the study/development of leadership skills not available in your Deanery.

• Open to BAPRAS members (Consultants ≤3 years, Specialist Registrars 3–8).

• Up to £3,000 total available.

Microsurgery Education Fund

Two awards available (up to £1,000)
Supports junior trainees (CT1–ST3) to attend microsurgery courses in the UK or abroad.

• Must be BAPRAS member.

• Report required post-course.

European Travelling Scholarship

Six scholarships available – £6,000 total
For Specialist Registrars (years 4–6) to visit a European plastic surgery centre.

• Preference: those without other financial awards.

Student Bursaries

Up to £5,000 annually
For medical students undertaking research, electives, or travel in plastic surgery.

• Preference: projects with significant specialty exposure & originality.

• Payment to host institutions not covered.

Fellowship Travelling Bursaries

Five awards, up to £5,000 each (total £25,000)
For Consultants (≤3 years) & Specialist Registrars (4–8) to study new techniques abroad. 

Travelling Bursaries for Presentations Overseas

Four awards annually, £600 each
Supports Consultants or trainees presenting at international meetings.
