Mr Benjamin Way
South East Coast Council Representative
Mr Benjamin Way is a fully qualified, UK-trained consultant plastic surgeon, appointed to the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead since 2023, where he specialises in melanoma, general skin cancer, and lymphatic surgery.
He graduated from the University of Oxford with degrees in physiological science (BA) and clinical medicine (BMBCh), before completing basic surgical training in London. He was appointed as a specialty registrar in the PanThames London Deanery where he completed higher plastic surgery training at some of the UKs leading units, as well as postgraduate research at the UCL Institute of Child Health at Great Ormond Street into craniofacial and scar biology, towards Masters and doctoral degrees.
At the end of his training he was awarded the Intercollegiate Fellowship in plastic surgery - FRCS (plast), and completed nationally appointed specialist fellowships in melanoma/skin cancer surgery (Guy’s and St Thomas’), Extremity trauma reconstruction (QVH/UHS) and aesthetic surgery (BAAPS), which have provided him with broad expertise in reconstructive and microsurgical techniques.
Mr Way is a core member of the Sussex specialist skin cancer multidisciplinary team, is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery, is a member of and sits on the council of BAPRAS as the UK South East representative, and is a member of BAAPS.
