Event description:
Following the success of our recent Plastic Surgery and Trauma & Orthopaedics conferences, we are delighted to return with a combined Orthoplastics: Trauma & Reconstructive Surgery Conference.
This full-day event will bring together leading consultants to explore the principles of major trauma, reconstructive and orthoplastic practice. The programme features expert talks, a powerful keynote from a former Royal Marine who lost three limbs while on patrol in Afghanistan and is now an athlete, author and inspirational leadership speaker, as well as oral and poster presentations from delegates showcasing current research and clinical projects.
In the afternoon, you will rotate through small group workshops covering suturing techniques, tendon repair, local skin flaps, arterial anastomosis and nerve repair under tabletop operating microscopes, along with sawbone trauma stations including lower limb external fixation, DHS, IM nail and others.
All attendees will receive a suturing kit, tungsten carbide needle holder and 15 sutures to continue honing their skills after the event.
Target audience:
With 48 tickets available, the conference is aimed at medical students and foundation doctors who want to explore careers in plastic surgery or trauma & orthopaedics.
Registration fees: £15
