Aina Greig and Abhilash Jain are Co-Chief Investigators for the NINJA (Nail bed INJury Analysis) multicentre randomised control trial (RCT).
The NINJA pilot study was funded by the BSSH and the Royal College of Surgeons and was supported by BAPRAS. This is first RCT to be launched by the Reconstructive Surgery Trials Network (RSTN), is supported by the University of Oxford, and is ‘On Portfolio’ with the NIHR Clinical Research Network.
Four centres recruited to the pilot study GSTT (Aina Greig), Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust (Claire Zweifel and Adam Sierakowski), Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (Richard Pinder) and Oxford (Dominic Furniss). Matt Gardiner help coordinate the numerous trainees who have played an essential role in recruitment and data collection. The clinical teams are supported by the Oxford Surgical Intervention Trials Unit as part of the RCS clinical trial initiative.
