Reflections on ESPRAS 2014
Reflections on ESPRAS 2014

June 2014
The joint BAPRAS/ESPRAS 2014 meeting covered the state of the art in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, from face and hand transplants via breast augmentation and rhinoplasty, to humanitarian missions and war injuries.
New techniques can only be thought to be better if we know what went before and the lessons of the past were linked to today's techniques by lectures given in honour of Gilles, McIndoe, Mowlem and Potter.
Edinburgh, with its 500 year old College of Surgeons, where dissection courses have been held every day training young surgeons, was the perfect backdrop to set the tone of the meeting.
The conference was a great success and congratulations are due to the organisers, the speakers, delegates, Contendam and the staff of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
