BAPRAS maintains its advice for women with PIP breast implants

13th January 2012

This weekend, the NHS will launch an advertising campaign advising women on what to do with PIP breast implants.

In accordance with the adverts BAPRAS advises that there is no need for women to panic and that they should seek appropriate consultation with their clinic or GP.

BAPRAS is in the final stages of agreeing a common set of guidelines for health professionals and patients in partnership with ABS, RCS, FSSA and BAAPS.

Ahead of this, and whilst further data is being accumulated by the Expert Group on the implications of PIP implants, BAPRAS continues to advise that it is sensible for the implants to be removed.
