BAPRAS Abstract Writing Tips

These guidelines aim to provide some tips to improve the chance of your abstract being selected for presentation at the BAPRAS events.

Abstract title:
A good abstract title will make a good impression and plays a very important role in grabbing the audience's attention. Your abstract title must not exceed 50 words. The title should clearly summarise the contents of your paper. Please use sentence case, not block capitals.

Structure:
The total word count of your abstract must be no more than 250 words
It is recommended that Aims, Methods, Results and Conclusion are used as headings for your abstract sections.
References and citations to previously published work should be avoided

An introduction should not be included unless essential.

If you are submitting a 'case report' or 'point of technique' please state this in the title.
If your paper falls into this category, it may be better submitted as a poster.
