Professor Abhilash Jain

Professor Abhilash Jain was appointed as Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Imperial College London in 2010. He subsequently moved his academic position to the University of Oxford and now holds joint appointment as Associate Professor of Plastic and Hand Surgery at both these Institutions.

He is currently Chairman of the BAPRAS Research Committee. He was appointed as the Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Specialty Lead for Plastic and Hand Surgery, representing both BAPRAS and the BSSH in 2013. He founded and leads the Reconstructive Surgery Trials Network (RSTN), which undertakes collaborative research in the UK.

His clinical interest includes hand surgery and lower limb trauma, while his academic work now focuses on national multi-center clinical research.
