Professor Gus McGrouther on BBC Newsnight

Professor Gus McGrouther features on a recent episode of Newsnight with regards to his role as the Consultant Plastic Surgeon on duty at University College Hospital at the time of the London nail bomb attacks in 1999.

On the 20th anniversary of this event, Professor McGrouther reflects on the victims he treated and notes the horrific nature of the injuries from the attack. He states that part of the "desire of the hospital is to reverse the evil of this act" and emphasises the emotional stress medical staff have to deal with, on top of the medical procedures, in supporting victims who might have life-changing injuries and who may even have lost family members.
