Yorkshire Microsurgery Course

Date: 30 October - 1 November 2023 (3 days)
Location: Microsurgery Simulation Suite, Bradford Royal Infirmary

Event information: 
- a 3 day course using avian tissue and “Flow Simulation”.
- the Course is held using state of the art teaching microscopes in the purpose built Microsurgical Simulation Suite at the BRI.
- opportunity to also use 2 person Zeiss operating microscope under direct consultant supervision.

Consultant supervised, bespoke practical sessions covering:
Basics of Microsurgery Technique
Nerve Coaptation: primary nerve repair, interpositional nerve graft
Vessel Anastomosis: end to end, end to side interpositional vein graft
Free Tissue Transfer 

The Course comprises predominantly of practical sessions, complemented by short lectures. ( 20+hrs microscope time & <1hr total lecture time) 

The course dinner is included in the price and represents an essential, and mandatory, part of the experience, providing an invaluable opportunity for faculty and delegates to engage in an informal setting.

Target audience: 
- trainees with little, or no, previous experience in microsurgery
- also suitable as a refresher course for more senior trainees
