On August 4, 2020, Beirut was rocked by an immense explosion at the port at 6:08pm. The Lebanese witnessed the largest disaster to hit its capital in years, leading to 200 dead, 6,000 injured and 300,000 people displaced in this tragedy. The healthcare system in the capital was put to the toughest test especially with 3 major hospitals directly affected by the blast. Healthcare professionals witnessed a surge of cases in their Emergency Rooms and the overwhelming number of injured kept increasing by the minute.
This webinar will discuss the situation of the healthcare facilities during and after the blast, in addition to the unique cases that physicians and nurses faced in specialties such as general/trauma surgery, plastic surgery, neuro-surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, emergency medicine and more.Target audience
