Chris Macdonald is a consultant at the internationally renowned Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead where he specialties in the management of skin cancer. He also operates at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals where he is a member of the major trauma team caring for and reconstructing patients across the whole of the South East. Chris’ practice also encompasses a broad range of plastic surgery from chest and abdominal wall reconstruction to treating vascular malformations. 

Chris went to medical school at University College London (then the Royal Free and University College Medical School) and completed his surgical and plastic surgery training having worked across the UK. After being awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Chris undertook competitive fellowships in skin oncology, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery and then spent time training in Boston and San Diego. Chris then worked as a consultant in the East Midlands before returning to his roots in the South East.

Beyond his clinical work, Chris is passionate about improving patient safety, improving the quality of information patients are given and training medical students and junior doctors.
