Surgical Skills for Aspiring & Junior Plastic Surgeons

12 January 2019

Alexandra Hospital, Redditch

Event description

A 1 day course to teach specific surgical skills to aspiring and junior Plastic Surgery trainees to provide a solid foundation for future development. Designed for the management of wounds in the ED and Minor Operation lists.

Developed by an experienced ED consultant (with 40 years of Surgery and EM) and a senior Plastic Trainee (who remembers what it was like in the beginning), both of whom also teach on the RCS Surgical Skills course.

Feedback from previous Courses include “excellent course, very informative, plenty of hands on and good supervision”. Plas FY2; “great overall. Allows expansion from BSS (RCS Course). Pitched to perfect level”. Plas FY2; “great. Very useful both for surgeons and ED doctors. Fun”. Plast FY2.

Would also be suitable for other surgical trainees including maxilla-facial, ENT and general surgery, who wish an insight into basic plastic surgical techniques.
