Wg Cdr Ankur Pandaya

Previously the secretary of BAPRAS (2014-2016), Wg Cdr Ankur Pandya is a RAF consultant plastic surgeon based in Hampshire and Sussex over the past 18 years. He is currently the  Lead Clinician of The Mountbatten department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth for a six year period. He is the RAF consultant Advisor in Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the SAC for Plastic Surgery. 

His NHS practice consists of Hand surgery, Paediatric plastic surgery, Head and Neck salvage reconstructions, lower limb trauma  and complex nasal reconstructions, 

He has a wide spectrum of Academic interests and is a visiting professor of surgery in Romania, and a Lecturer, both, at the Southampton University School of Medicine as well as Portsmouth University. He is an examiner for The FRCS Plastic Surgery fellowship exam as well as the British and European Hand Diploma Exams.

His voluntary activities include more than 40 cleft, post burn reconstruction and congenital hand missions around the world. He has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as part of his military duties. He was awarded the Order of St John for voluntary work in 2009.
