The CRUK has recently awarded a prestigious Clinician Scientist Fellowship with an award value of approximately £1.4 million to BAPRAS member, Amit Roshan. This will support Amit’s appointment as an academic consultant in Cambridge. His research interests focus on the molecular landscape in early stage melanoma and the detection of circulating tumour DNA prior to clinical or radiological progression.

This is the first time that the CRUK has funded a Plastic Surgeon to this level, and the awards remain highly competitive across all medical and surgical academics.

Amit is also happy to mentor any trainees keen on undertaking a period of time out of clinical training in high quality translational research.
