This award was endowed by Professor T Pomfret Kilner through a legacy received from the late Sir Joseph Kay. The initial endowment was for a prize of £25.00.
The prize was awarded from 1962-2004 for an essay, the title of which was decided by Council, and the best entry on the website related to the practice of plastic surgery. Due to lack of interest in the prize and the withdrawal of the sponsor for the B Braun Aesculap Prize form 2006 the Kilner Prize will be awarded for the presenter of the best paper at the Winter Meeting of the Association. The winner will receive a cheque for £1,000.00.
