Head & Neck Cancer

A major advance in the management of patients with major head and neck cancer in the last 20 years has been the development for reconstructive techniques, allowing immediate reconstruction and providing optimal function and appearance for the patient. Such patients are best dealt with in combined clinics where plastic, maxillofacial and ENT surgeons together with oncologists collaborate. Combined operations, involving more than one surgical specialty, are often in the patient's interest and some patients also require combined modalities of treatment including radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy.
