The Association was founded in 1946 as the British Association of Plastic Surgeons with the objects of relieving sickness and protecting and preserving Public Health by the promotion and development of Plastic Surgery. The aim of the Association is to advance education in all aspects of Plastic Surgery.
The Association holds scientific meetings, runs training courses, awards scholarships and grants and owns the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS) - formerly British Journal of Plastic Surgery.
